It has not been until recently and in part due to the Full-Time Training in Anaheim (FTTA) that I have realized what a blessing it has been to grow up in a home surrounded by people who were utterly in love with God. Even during my childhood I remember my parents led me to sing hymns and to shout praises to God. They encouraged me to read the Bible and even to read from Christian books that they had received help from--such as the writings of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee.

Consequently, I chose to attend the FTTA (a Bible school founded by Witness Lee) after finishing my undergraduate degree in molecular biology. Since being here I have seen my love for the Lord grow deeper and more intense, my knowledge of the Bible increase exponentially, and my character improve. Most importantly I have had many more interactions and experiences with my Lord.

Our curriculum includes going to local universities to preach the gospel. On one such day I came across a fellow believer and asked her if she had ever heard that in resurrection Christ became the life-giving Spirit (1 Corinthians 15:45) and that being a Christian doesn't stop at salvation (Romans 5:10). I asked if she knew that God has a desire (Ephesians 1:9) not just to be worshipped, revered and feared, but to cultivate a loving, personal and intimate relationship with His believers (Ephesians 3:17; Mark 12:30). This student, in all her years of being a believer, never realized that God could be so personal and even so real. I left with an appreciation of the FTTA and saw the preciousness of the writings of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. Through their ministry I know that God desires to express Himself through man (Romans 8:29), and I am clear that He achieves this goal by dispensing (John 20:22) Himself as the life-giving Spirit (1 Corinthians 15:45b) into our human spirit (John 4:24). We are joined to the Lord (1 Corinthians 6:17) and are one spirit with Him; therefore, we can experience Him and have such a close relationship with God.
